In order to better accommodate hunters, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has separated the state’s whitetail deer population into five distinct hunting zones.

The gun season for either sex in zone A begins on November 21 and ends on February 10, 2021. Antlered bucks can be shot with an arrow from the 15th of October until the 10th of February in zone B. For both sexes between the dates of October 25 and February 10. The 21st of November until the 10th of February is gun season in zone B.
St. Clair County, Jefferson County, Blount County, Cullman County, Etowah County, Morgan County, Winston County, DeKalb County, Jackson County, Lawrence County, and Franklin County are all represented in Zone C. The bow season for either gender in zone C runs from October 15th to February 10th, 2021.
The gun season for antlered bucks in zone C will begin on November 21 and end on February 10, 2021. During the periods of November 21 through November 29 and December 19 through January 1, 2021, hunters in zone C are permitted to use firearms to take deer of either sex. In order to hunt in the state of Alabama, you are required to obtain a license and report any and all deer that you harvest to the government of the state.
